Trilogy System Clinical Benefits
Power Trilogy offers an all in one, reliable and complete treatment system. With thousands of Trilogy machines installed worldwide, clinicians can benefit from a broad range of external beam therapies, multiple dose rate options, flexible imaging options and compatibility with select external motion monitoring devices.Quality Treatments Built on the reliable C-series platform, Trilogy is a fully-loaded, turn-key treatment delivery system proven for high up-time rates. A robust radiotherapy machine, Trilogy is ready for a wide range of treatment modalities. Designed to treat large patient volumes using broad treatment techniques, Trilogy is capable of administering high dose rates resulting in shorter sessions and faster patient treatment times. Enabling patients to be repositioned quickly and accurately, Trilogy features a finely tuned beam isocenter for precise patient set up and imaging. With Varian’s robotic On-Board Imager® (OBI) on the Trilogy system, it provides rapid imaging so clinicians can see what they are treating with a high degree of confidence. The Trilogy system offers advanced motion management capabilities. Complete with Gated RapidArc and a new open motion management interface, these tools expand the options for treating moving tumors. During treatments, gated RapidArc utilizes the RPM system to monitor and adjust for tumor motion. Motion Management Interface (MMI) technology can also be used with third party companies to connect their devices to Varian accelerators for monitoring motion. This interface further demonstrates the open architecture design of the Trilogy system and provides support to third party companies to monitor tumor motion in real time. The strength of Trilogy may help yield treatment times that are shorter, making the experience more comfortable for the patient. Clinical benefits of the Trilogy system include:
- Highest dose rate for shorter sessions.
- Faster treatment times.
- Tight isocenter alignments on all three axes for targeting the smallest lesions.
- Rapid on-board imaging to reposition patients quickly and accurately.
- Cone-Beam CT for fine tuning patient set ups with precise CT scans.
